Reinvest Birmingham will provide $20 million of grant funding to support the persistently distressed neighborhoods of North Birmingham, Northside, Pratt, and Smithfield. Northwest Birmingham has experienced significant challenges caused by a legacy of disinvestment, systemic racism, pollution, and land use decisions.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-f67a2a1\" data-id=\"f67a2a1\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3aa2bea elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3aa2bea\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recompete funding will provide in-demand workforce training to residents in the target neighborhoods through a partnership with Lawson State Community College, a Historically Black College and University (HCBU). Reinvest Birmingham includes support for entrepreneurs facing disparities in training and capital access, and expanding and improving transportation and accessible childcare in the target neighborhoods.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-57df699\" data-id=\"57df699\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ed5de6f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ed5de6f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Partnerships with local Birmingham community based organizations will create pathways for residents to the over 5,000 good jobs committed by Birmingham-area employers.
